OUR STORY
Howdy y’all beautiful people! Strap on your chaps and ride with me on a bling filled magical mystery tour, over the lush green plains of the Southwest of the good ole’ U S of A. Where the Mountains and endless blue skies glitter like turquoise.
Stampede 66 is on a mission to provide all you rock gods, boho babes, bikers and other outlaws with handcrafted, vintage Western inspired turquoise jewellery, that makes a statement and will probably make you richer and sexier too.
Why Southwestern Jewellery:
A lover of turquoise since I first coveted my grandmother's Persian turquoise brooch, my prize possession as an aspiring bad ass biker was my beautiful turquoise statement ring, which I wore everyday until it fell apart. At this point I discovered the hideous truth that it was in fact made of turquoise coloured resin and not genuine turquoise at all (sob, sob, oh the deceit, I’ve never felt so betrayed). As I failed to find genuine handcrafted turquoise rings in the southwest (UK), I decided to make my own.
What We Do:
We source beautiful pieces of turquoise from around the world and turn them into unique Southwestern inspired pieces of jewellery, using Native American silversmithing techniques and tools imported from Navajo toolsmiths. We specialise in hand stamped and hand hammered silverwork . We know your money is hard earned, so we ensure all our jewellery is fantastic quality and affordable too. I only ever make jewellery that I would be happy to receive myself.
Who We Are:
Stampede 66 is a family affair. I am the creative dynamo and Buddy cooks the books. The kids also know that they’re not gonna get fed until they’ve beaded fifty pairs of earrings a piece. (Hey, I’m kidding! Before you call social services).
When not working our butts off making jewellery, we can be found gigging around Devon and Cornwall in various rockabilly, Americana and gypsy jazz bands (I play double bass and Buddy is a pan-basher).
I am eternally grateful for each and every one of my lovely patrons as you all allow me to work form home where I can support my neurodiverse whippersnappers. As a family we tick every box including Tuorettes, autism, ADHD, dyslexia (please be kind if you spot spelling mistakes) etc. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting our teeny buisness.
